MKS BM-7 Brass For Circles | A Special-Edition Flat Pedal Made to Age with Your Bike

The more you ride, the more character it develops.

The MKS BM-7 Brass For Circles is a special-edition flat pedal commissioned by Circles, a bicycle shop based in Nagoya, Japan, following approximately three years of development.

It is based on the classic MKS BM-7, a model with roots in 1970s BMX pedals. This edition retains the original pedal’s distinctive shape and practical platform while adding brass side plates that develop a unique appearance through continued use.

On the Black Paint Brass version, the black finish gradually wears away to reveal the brass underneath. Raw Brass develops the softer tones and natural oxidation associated with the material, and it can also be polished to achieve a preferred finish.

The wave-shaped platform is designed to engage securely with sneaker soles. Its gently concave profile helps position the foot naturally at the center of the pedal, providing a stable platform for city riding, gravel rides, and touring.

With its classic profile and distinctive brass details, it pairs well with BMX bikes, MTBs, gravel bikes, touring builds, commuters, and other bicycles designed to be enjoyed over many years.

【STAFF REVIEW】

This edition keeps the familiar feel of the BM-7 while adding the visual presence of brass side plates. The wave-shaped surface works particularly well with sneakers, while the gently concave platform helps the foot settle naturally into position.

Black Paint Brass is especially appealing for riders who enjoy watching their components change over time. As the finish wears, the exposed brass gives each pair an individual appearance that develops alongside the bike.
