KUWAHARA elk Bar | A Stem-Integrated Handlebar Inspired by 1990s MTB Culture

A distinctive threadless handlebar that combines a bold silhouette with a more upright riding position.

The KUWAHARA elk Bar reinterprets the stem-integrated handlebars associated with early mountain bikes for modern 1-1/8-inch threadless steerers.

Its continuous stem-and-handlebar form and pronounced 113mm rise create a strong visual presence that can significantly change the character of a bike. It works particularly well for restoring or customizing older mountain bikes, while also adding a distinctive style to cross bikes, minivelos, and commuter bikes.

A 7° upsweep and 16° backsweep help place the hands at a natural angle. The high rise makes it easier to create a more upright position with a higher line of sight, making the bar suitable for city riding and relaxed cruising.

Made from A6061-T6 aluminum, the elk Bar combines the atmosphere of 1990s MTB culture with dimensions designed for use on contemporary bikes.

The elk Bar is a component that can transform the overall character of a bike as soon as it is installed. It suits classic MTB restorations, but also works well when building a distinctive minivelo or commuter.

The 113mm rise can help reduce an overly forward-leaning riding position. Combined with the 16° backsweep, it brings the grips naturally toward the rider and provides a comfortable position for city riding and cruising.
