MKS SYLVAN TOURING | Classic Pedals for City Riding and Long-Distance Touring
A wide double-sided platform and timeless styling make this Japanese-made pedal a natural match for traditional touring bikes.
First introduced in 1978, the MKS SYLVAN TOURING is a long-running model from the SYLVAN series. It has remained a popular choice for riders of randonneur, sportif, and other classically styled touring bikes.
The wide W94 × L63mm platform supports a broad area of the foot, while the double-sided construction allows either side to be used. This makes it easy to adjust foot position during everyday city rides and longer touring journeys.
Its aluminum body and anodized aluminum side plates create the understated appearance associated with classic touring pedals. The design pairs naturally with steel touring bikes, commuters, randonneurs, and sportif bicycles.
The SYLVAN TOURING is compatible with toe clips and straps, allowing the setup to be adapted to different riding styles. Optional reflectors can also be installed for everyday use.
Ball bearings provide smooth rotation, and the pedal can be serviced using the separately sold MKS cap spanner. Bearing adjustment and lubrication can be performed as part of regular maintenance, allowing the pedals to be used and cared for over time.
